With the judges noting the skill demonstrated across a range of disciplines, particular attention was drawn to the hard work and talent of the GHS students.
2018 Manning Great Lakes Award recipients from GHS are:
James Terras – 1st place Yr 10 Ind Tech Metals (Forge); prize: $50 cash and $50 mitre 10 voucher
Bradey Rose – 1st place Yr 9 Automotive section (Cutaway 2 stroke engine); prize: Jacar package tools
Aden Rose – 2nd place Yr 9 Automotive section (Cutaway 2 stroke engine); prize: Taree Motorcycles package
Tania O’Brien – 1st place Stage 4 Food Tech (Fondant presentation); prize: $50 from Mackies electrical
Georgia Schultz, Asha Murray-Holden and Travis Johnston – 2nd place Stage 4 Food Tech (Fondant presentation); prize: Taree Motorcycles package
Toreen Denyer – 2nd place Stage 4 Textiles (Door stop); prize: Taree Motorcycles package
Andrew Hughes – People's choice award (fishing tackle box); prize: Clock
The display was held at the Manning Regional Art Gallery from Wednesday, November 28 to Sunday, December 9 when the awards were presented. It showcase works from students in the Manning, Great Lakes and Gloucester. GHS students are encouraged to submit projects next year and collect some of the $4000 worth of prizes on offer.
