It was another gala affair with patrons arriving via the red carpet and rose petals with photographs taken on the night by resident photographer Maggie Heineger and club patrons and life members were in attendance to present trophies. The tables were beautifully decorated in a Christmas theme which added to the atmosphere for the night.
Mark Groves accepted the men's major singles trophy from patron Tom Donoghue and Joan Ridgeway won the ladies major singles title for the ninth time.
Minor singles winners were Di Pritchard who has excelled at the game in her short career and a jubilant Nico Duynhoven who accounted for some strong opposition during his way to the final.
In the mixed championships the pairs were won by Joan Ridgeway and the ever reliable skip Kevin Burley and the fours trophy was won by Judy Sheely, Mike Sheely, Joan Ridgeway and the old fox John Andrews who skipped the team to victory.
Both the ladies and men's umpires were acknowledged for their dedication to the game and all volunteers who assisted throughout the year.
The night was heralded a huge success and promises to be even bigger and better event for 2019 and thanks must go to our volunteer courtesy driver James who transported members safely throughout the evening.
