Four Stroud Seals attended the NSW State Age Championships from December 14 to 19, 2018 at Sydney Olympic Park, posting some impressive results.

Coach Michael Abel was very impressed by the performances of swimmers Tim Tatchell, Raff Francisci, Grace Gray and Robert Stanley at the event.

Tim achieved a personal best (PB) of 1.01 seconds in the 100 metre breaststroke ranking 18th in the 18 years and over division. He also competed in the 200m breast stroke.

Raff competed in four events and was delighted to achieve a 10s PB in 200m butterfly, a 0.25s PB in his 50m freestyle (gaining him a national qualifying time), and a 0.52s PB in the 100m fly.

Robert celebrated a stellar week competing in the 17 years 100m and 200m breast stroke. Robert obtained a PB of 0.5 seconds in his 100m breaststroke finishing 11th. In the 200m breaststroke, he made the final and finished eighth in NSW for his age group. He was also the recipient of a $500 AIS Local Sporting Champion Grant awarded to athletes who need to travel to attend a state championships to help cover costs.

Grace Gray competed in three events.

Coach Abel believes the best is yet to come for the swimmers, training them to peak at NSW Country Championships in February 2019.
