Off the back of a successful debut CD launch late last year, which saw more than 70 people show their support for the longtime Gloucester band, the group is now preparing for a stint in Tamworth.
At the launch, band member Leanne Barrett said there was a lot of love in the room, and it’s this kind love for their music that has seen them invited to play alongside a two-time Golden Guitar winner.
“We’ll be supporting Tom Curtain in his Katherine Outback Experience Show at the Tamworth Paceway, as part of the Tamworth Country Music Festival,” Leanne said. “There are five 90 minute shows from January 21 to 25.
“We will be performing both before and after Tom's show, then we will be backing Tom as he sings a set of his award winning songs,” Leanne said.
It’s the band first appearance at the famous country music festival which attracts tens of thousands of people to the fortnight long event.
The Tamworth Country Music Festival is an annual music festival in January which is a celebration of country music culture and heritage in particular the national Australian country music scene.
The festival has many times been counted among the world's top 10 music festivals.
“We are very honoured and excited to be sharing the stage with Tom,” Leanne said.
Tom Curtain's 90 minute Katherine Outback Experience show combines authentic horse-starting and working dog demonstrations, live music, horse riding trickery and humorous bush tales providing a unique window into life on the land, showcasing and celebrating the Australian Outback.
Tickets for the shows are available from the Katherine Outback Experience Facebook page.
