The Gloucester Environment Group is gearing up for another year of activities, starting with our monthly walks program. A more comprehensive list of proposed events will be circulated later in January, but our first walk of the year is on Saturday, January 19.

This will take place in Newcastle, where we’ll be walking part of the last two sections of the Great North Walk - starting with the Yuelarbah Track in Glenrock State Conservation Area, and finishing up in the Newcastle CBD (about 10 kilometres).

It’s fairly flat and rated easy, and includes a mix of forest track, beach, urban pathways and the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway. Bring swimmers for a dip at Merewether Baths and some change for an ice cream.

We will meet at the Skating Bowl parking area at Billabong Park for car pooling.

More information will be available from Alison after January 15, on 0409 718 795. Or for more general information call Jeff on 6558 7436.
