Canberra native, Terry Snow will be the guest speaker at Gloucester Rotary Club’s dinner meeting on February 19 at the Gloucester Bowling Club.
Named as number 36 on the Forbes list of wealthiest Australians 2019, Snow became a billionaire in 2017.
With a background in accounting and property development, Snow has made his fortune through his investment in the Canberra airport and the property he owns around it.
He worked as a property developer in the 1980s with his father, Bob, and brother George, in a family business that was later sold.
In 1998, taking his portion of the sale proceeds, he purchased a 99-year lease on the capital city’s main airport.
It’s reported Snow invested more than $2 billion developing the airport, and building office and industrial parks on 430 hectares (1062 acres) of surrounding land.
His most recent development project was the estimated $100 million equestrian centre, Willinga Park at Bawley Point on the NSW South Coast, a project he refers to as his legacy.
Snow’s nett worth as at February 2, 2019 was $1.2 billion.
The 75-year-old husband and father of four will be making his way to Gloucester to share the story of his journey to financial success. The event is open to public from 6pm with pre dinner drinks with the formal part starting at 7pm. Tickets cost $25 per person which includes a two course meal.
