Men’s Club Championship Minor Singles Semi Finals: Semi Finals winners Mathew Higgins and Neville Atkins proved to be a cut above their rivals Tony Tersteeg and Terry Davies who did well to make the semi’s in a well contested field.

The games were entertaining with some really good ends and having the ladies ‘share’ the Green made for a better spectacle with more spectators. (Jan Jones winning over Jean Holstein in the first round of their Championship Singles)
The men’s final is set to be a ripper and it is scheduled for 9.30am Sunday 17th Feb but subject to change. You don’t want to miss this one so I suggest you confirm with the Club.
Pennant Trial: Played at Wingham as a lead up to Pennant in which is commencing in March saw Divisions 3 and 6 undefeated over 7 rinks and as usual Wingham were good company and great hosts. Our next trial is against Dungog at Gloucester on Saturday.
Men’s Bowls: Thursday: Winners were Terry Davies, Aaron Kelly and Terry Higgins (19 + 9) and Runners Up were Mike Sheely, Peter Sansom and Kevin Everett (16+9) Mixed Bowls: Saturday: Winners Bob Charman, Jim Whittaker and Jean Holstein (17+10) and the Runners Up Danny Green and Joan Ridgeway (16 + 6)
Women’s Bowls: Wednesday: The 1st round of the ladies Major Singles was played last week with the following results: Judy Sheely defeated Dianna Lockwood, Lorraine Radcliffe defeated Valda Tilse and Del Buckton defeated Colleen Atkins (this match was very exciting, with a final end being played after the score was 24-24).
Kerrie Green went forward to the next round following a forfeit from Bev Murray. Today the last matches in the 1st round will be played between Vera Whatmore and Jenny Burley, Diane Pritchard and Jill Everett. The match between Jean Holstein and Jan Jones was played on Sunday, 10 February (result in next week’s report). The best of luck to you all.
