That’s the motivation behind two free information sessions being held in Gloucester on Friday February 22, hosted by the Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group.
Prime Super regional manager Annette Mackay and Certified Financial Planner Maria Ganakas will be running the straight forward and interactive financial advice workshops geared at women.
It’s believed that financial empowerment for women has many flow-on effects, including a reduced likelihood of family violence, a reduction of poverty and an increase in economic opportunity both to individuals and to the community as a whole.
Session one is a ‘Women in Business’ breakfast to be held at the Blueprint Kitchen, 3 Britten Street, Gloucester from 7.30am until 9am. This free session aims to help Gloucester women in business take control of their financial future and start thinking about their retirement, with advice on catch-up strategies, the importance of off-farm assets, succession planning and more. Bookings are essentials and spaces are limited. Booking can be made at https://www.stickytickets.com.au/81546 or by calling 6558 2454.
Session two is a ‘Money Matters’ evening session for women aged between 18 to 35 years at the Avon Valley Inn, 82 Church Street, Gloucester from 6pm to 7pm. This session will cover skills needed for taking responsibility over finances, by teaching budgeting and savings techniques, how to set financial goals and preparing a financial future. Bookings are essentials and spaces are limited. Booking can be made at https://www.stickytickets.com.au/81613 or by calling 6558 2454.
Visit the Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group’s Facebook page for more information. Bookings for both sessions close Monday February 18 or once booked out.
