Every year Gloucester's sporting clubs are asked to nominate its junior athletes for the Gloucester Sports Committee's Encouragement Awards.

Each month, the committee awards a few young athletes with a plaque recognising the nomination. At the annual Sports Awards held the following year, one is chosen as the overall Encouragement Award winner for the year.

June: Cameron Turner (Archery)
August: Zali Jennings (Archery), Bella Gunn (Netball)

December: Riley Edwards (Junior cricket), Sahara-Roze Genoli (Little Athletics), Isabella Fisher (Pony Club)
This year's Gloucester Sports Awards presentation will be held on Saturday, May 11 at Gloucester Soldiers Club auditorium to recognise the achievements of Gloucester's sporting fraternity for 2018.
Nominations for all other award categories is now open and forms are available from committee members or from the Gloucester Visitor Information Centre. Nominations are to be submitted along with a digital image of the nominee as per the instructions on the form. Closing date for nominations is March 25.
