Council said its intends the workshops for residents to "identify the things that matter to them", and for council to understand issues at a local level, and gain feedback from the community. The workshops are expected to take around two hours each session and will be facilitated so everyone has a chance to talk. Light refreshments will be available at the workshops.
“With an area that spans 10,000km2 we recognise that every community is different and has different priorities”, council's general manager, Adrian Panuccio said.
“These forums are an opportunity for us to drill down at a very local level, opening an exchange of information that will ultimately see us working together with local communities to achieve more”.
Workshops will run from March 26 to May 9, and will occur at Old Bar, Nabiac, Stroud, Hallidays Point, Taree, Forster, Gloucester, Harrington, Bulahdelah, Pacific Palms, Wingham and Tea Gardens.
Members of the community are encouraged to register a question or specific area of interest before a workshop by visiting www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/questionsforcouncil.
