Thursday bowls saw a good field once again now the weather is kinder and playing on the grass green proved popular. John Andrews, Bob Crittenden, Mike Sheely handled the conditions and were winners on the day. Great to see Critto and Frank Wells back to bowls after a period away from the game. Saturday bowls and pennants were washed out with the postponed pennant games to be played Sunday 7 April, at the respective venues which means there will be pennant games on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Saturday bowls will return to the normal starting time of 1.30pm commencing this week. The final of the men's pairs have been decided with the defending champions Col Hebblewhite and Bruce Wilson having an easy win over John and Jamie Andrews (Glory Glory to the winners). Two games of major singles were played with Neville Atkins scoring a narrow victory over Stacey Groves who put up a great fight with minimum practice. Tony Tersteeg and Jason Collins were locked at 24 all but Tony scored a four and three on the last two ends to reach the magical 31 required.
