Ollies Service Centre Dark Blue v Barrington Trophies White: It was a great first game of the season. The first time players played well and are building their confidence. Some of last years players have come a long way and their ball control skills have come a long way.
Gloucester Home Improvement Services Red v Bucketts Building Supplies Light Blue: Another great game, everyone played very well but Blue were too strong. A good game from Jaxson and Jake kept red in the game. For Bucketts Building Supplies Ewan & Flynn scored some excellent goals.. Awesome defence by Chloe, Matthew and Sebastian. Jessie, Finley and Hunter stayed close to the centre and kept the ball moving. Some great improvements from everyone. See you all on the 4th May.
Darrel's Gourmet Butchery Gold v Gloucester Community Shop Green: Both teams had a great game, Riley lead the gold team around and all the kids had a great time.
Gloucester Farmers Market Division 2
Game 1 - Gloucester BlueLight vs Woolworths Gloucester
After a wet week, the opening game of the 2019 season started in a misty fog. A late start with many of the players from both teams absent saw a 7 on 5 tussle. The Woolworths team ended on top for the day with a strong 9-2 win over BlueLight. Bradley Rayner and Matthew Woods performed well sharing 6 goals between them, with Connor Garnham and Mia Hardy contributing to the score for the maroon team with Mia's strike an absolute cracker from long range. BlueLight managed 2 goals to Shannon Atkins a great effort given the team was 2 people down for the whole game.
Game 2 - Gloucester Soldiers Club vs Gloucester Community Club
By 10am the sun was out and biting but, unfortunately the Gloucester Soldiers team were unable to field a side and forfeited their first round game. In an effort to get the kids a game, some players from the first game joined in for a friendly, great fun ensued with eight goals scored across both teams.
Game 3 - Gloucester Tax and Accounting vs Gloucester White
Again the game started a little late with the white team managing to put the minimum 5 players on the field. Unfortunately the heat and excellent play from Ruben Hutchins (4 goals) and Alicia Edwards (7 goals) saw the Gloucester Tax and Accounting team run out winners 12-3. Not all was lost though with promising play from Cooper Gunn and Felicity Holstein giving the Gloucester White something to build on as the season progresses.
Look forward to seeing you all at the next game on May 4.
Gloucester Bluelight Division 1

Accommodation Gloucester White v Autolec Blue: A good solid game from both teams displaying fantastic team work. For the first game of the season. Paula showed her experience in goals for the blues, Bethany and Jacob were strong in attack.
DRIFTA Manning 16's
Drifta season kicks off with hat trick
The Gloucester Scorpions Drifta 16's are back for another great season, and with a few fresh faces, enjoyed their win against Cundletown 15's Jets who are playing up in the 16's group on Saturday 6th April.
It was a tight tussle for the first 20 minutes of the game, with both teams unable to breakaway and find the back of the net, but Kelly Groves, Cody Howard and Aiden Coombes fought hard up front, keeping their goalie on his toes. Kayden Schumann broke through the Jet's defensive line twice in five minutes, scoring two quick goals, but the Jets retaliated with a goal just moments before the halftime whistle.
Young newcomers Jackson Scanlon and Sam Leimgruber slotted into the team nicely with some great passes. Drifta found their feet in the second half sharing their goals around with Kelly Groves, Lane Edwards and Cody Howard all adding to the scoreline, while Kayden Schumann added another one, bagging himself a hat trick for the day.
Final Score Gloucester Scorpions 6, Cundletown Jets 1. Drifta travel to Lake Street Forster next Saturday April 13 to face Tuncurry Tigers Black at 12:30pm.

Gloucester Soldiers Men's dig deep with hat trick
Gloucester Scorpions men's team sponsored by Gloucester Soldiers Club, sported some new faces in their line up at home this week against Taree Wildcats. Owen Tomlinson placed Gloucester on the score board within the first five minutes with a brilliant goal, however Wildcats soon retaliated with three more before half time. Newcomers Frank Ostlund and Damian Rolvink provided the Wildcats keeper plenty of action, while two father and son combinations of Geoff and Aiden Hawkins, Darren Royce and Owen Tomlinson provided some talented entertainment amongst them on the field.
Lukas Dellsperger, Matthew Trudgeon and Caleb Walker worked tirelessly in defence with Andrew Hughes organising the backline. Daniel Hughes brought the crowd to their feet as a shot from the Wildcats was aimed at the top of the net, but with an excellent leap, saved it with his fingertips. An unfortunate handball inside the box from the Wildcats caused a penalty, providing Owen with a hat trick for the day.
Final score Taree Wildcats 6, Gloucester Scorpions 3. Next week Men's play at Wingham against Wallamba at 1pm.
