For the upcoming Gloucester Sports Awards, there are been three nominees in the 75 plus category, all of whom play lawn bowls.
The Gloucester Women's Bowling Club has nominated its longtime players and recently awarded life member, Margaret Andrews. Margaret has been a member of the club for 40 years, has held the position of match and selection chairs for more than 25 years, as well as holding the executive position of treasurer for two years. She has also been an accredited national umpire for 24 years, after becoming accredited in July 1994.
Margaret's passion for bowls has seen her win many championships, including being part of the winning team for Grade 3 pennant play-off at State level. She was also a club delegate to district for many years.
The men at the Gloucester Bowling Club have also put forth nominations from the Gloucester Bowling Club.
Lou Urby and Terry Davies are both very active members of the club and can be seen on the green on a regular basis. They both still play competitive bowls and are members of the club's Number 3 Pennant Team.
Terry has served as club president in the past.
