Ladies
Last week the ladies played the second round of the Pairs Championships, with the following results: Joan Ridgeway and Judy Sheely defeated Margaret Andrews and Val Pritchard (20-11), Jill Everett and Jean Holstein defeated Del Buckton and Bev Germon (16-15) - this match was very close and had to go to an extra end as it was a draw after 18 ends. Kerrie Green and Di Pritchard defeated Michelle Biggs and Lorraine Ratcliffe (21-11) and Patty West and Colleen Atkins defeated Jeanettte Mumford and Ruth Redman (23-13). There was one social game played on the grass green, which is now looking very smart after the 'working bee' last Monday. Today is the semi-finals of the pairs between the teams of Joan Ridgeway/J Sheely and J Everett/J Holstein and K Green/D Pritchard and P West/C Atkins.

Men's
Thursday bowls saw a good field playing on the grass green with favourable comments by players. Winners were John Andrews, Gary Spokes, Terry Davies who proved to strong in the triples matches with runners up being Terry Higgins, Jim McIntosh showing good form in a pairs game. Saturday's number three pennants sides saw Gloucester fighting back after a slow start to win by 78 to 49 on the master board which gave them a 10-0 victory with two matches to play. The next game is on 18 May with the washed out match against Wingham to be played on 19 May. The semi finals of the major singles championships were played on Sunday with Terry Davies def the over jubilant Jason Cassidy in a great match 31-28 and the other game between John Andrews and Col Linton was a nail biter down to the final end with John fighting back to win 31-29. Due to the pennants deferred game the final between Terry and John will be played on Sunday 26 May and should be worth the entry fee. The first round of the championship triples will be played on 2 June so check the draw for your match.
