This year's Gloucester High School athletics carnival was held in beautiful weather on Wednesday, May 8 at the Kay Green Memorial Athletics track.

Students competed in a range of events ahead of this year's zone competition and the chance to win points for their houses.

In the always competitive Champion of Champions events, Nicholas Edwards and Sarah Schiffmann were victorious, with Eli Zycki and Bronte Wisely coming as runners up.

12 years:

Female champion - Kaitlyn Commons; Runner up - Mackenzie Schafer

Male champion - Zac Schafer; Runner up Ethan Osborne

17 years plus:

Female champion - Bronte Wisely; Runner up - Charlotte Maslen

Male champion - Cameron Dunlop; Runner up - Callum Howard

In the champion house points score, Mograni was the winning house with a score of 764, with Tibbuc in a close second on 746, Kurricar on 555 and Belbora on 541.

For the students who have qualified, the Manning Zone Carnival will be held at South Street, Tuncurry on Thursday, May 23.
