Neville Atkins, Gordon Pritchard, Bob Crittenden def Rob Heiniger, John West, James Davison 22-15. Graham Turnbull, Peter Bignell, Wayne Groves def Nico Duynhoven, Phil Walls, Frank Wells 29-22. Peter Sansom, Doug Barron def Vic Hebby, Col Beattie 26-22. Kevin Everett, Andrew Henderson, Terry Davies def John Andrews, Tony Tersteeg, Gary Spokes 19-14 Clive Redman, Jim McIntosh def Jim Whittaker, Rob Bowden 21-16.
Saturday's field was small with Clive Redman, Jan Jones, Jim Whittaker def Jean Holstein, Bob Seymour, Di Lockwood 33-17 and Jenny Burley played great bowls to carry George Wisemantel who def Bev Murray, Judy Sheely 30-16. The number three pennant sides played Tuncurry Sporties on Saturday and secured a victory with Col Linton, John Andrews, Tony Tersteeg, Gary Spokes narrowly losing 20-19 Col Hebblewhite, Bruce Wilson, Andrew Henderson, Terry Davies played a draw and Jason Cassidy, Kevin Everett, Lu Urby, Mike Sheely came from behind to win 26-22. The victory sealed a flag for the grade and now will contest the state titles in Tamworth later this year "well done boys".
Next Sunday will see the final of the men's singles championship match between Terry Davies and John Andrews commencing at 9.30 am with the first round of the triples played on 2 June.
Ladies Pairs Championship
Last week was the semi-finals of the ladies Pairs Championships.
It was a beautiful day for a game of bowls - warm and with no wind. One game went down to the wire, with the score being 16-all after eighteen ends - a further end had to be played with the result that Pattie West and Colleen Atkins defeated Kerrie Green and Di Pritchard (17-16). In the other semi-final, Joan Ridgeway and Judy Sheely defeated Jill Everett and Jean Holstein (20-10).
Today will be the final of the Pairs, between Joan Ridgeway and Judy Sheely (defending champions) and Pattie West and Colleen Atkins.
