Councillors, staff and members of the community gathered at the Gloucester council chambers on Wednesday May 22 for an ordinary meeting which included a special presentation.
Mayor David West presented Kyra Edstein and Cadel Beard with a commemorative plaque, congratulating them on 'being selected as the 2019 Gloucester High School year 12 school captain'.
The presentation was made before the start of the agenda items. MidCoast Council has already honoured other school captains from around the region since the February but waited until its first meeting in Gloucester to present the plaque to the GHS captains.
Kyra and Cadel were voted in by their fellow students before the start of term four in 2018.
