A field of 28 players competed for the prize money on Thursday with the winners on the day being Stacey Groves, Vic Hebblewhite, Peter Jones def Terry Higgins, Nico Duynhoven, John West 24-11and runners up were Terry Davies, George Wisemantel, def Tony Tersteeg, Paul Mumford 22-14.

The remaining games were all closely contested with Lu Urby, Jason Collins, Wayne Groves def Kevin Everett, Mathew Higgins, Col Beattie 22-19, Rob Heininger, Steve Howlett, Chris Pritchard def John Andrews, Graham Turnbull, Robbie Bowden 18-14 and Kevin Burley, Mike Sheely, Don Mehieloff played a 23 all draw against Neville Atkins, Peter Sansom, Alec Laurie with Neville's team winning on a count back.
A good crowd witnessed the first round of the triples championships on Sunday in beautiful sunshine with the upset of the round going to Vic Hebblewhite, Graham Turnbull, George Wisemantel getting home on the last two ends to def John Andrews, Tony Tersteeg, Rob Heininger 30-27 and now will face the super hot team of Mark Tull, Jason Collins, Peter Jones who def Bob Charman, Jim Whittaker, Col Beattie 28-16, The Groves boys combined again with Mark, Phillip and Wayne def Lu Urby, Stacey Groves, John West 21-14, Kevin Everett, Neville Atkins, Mike Sheely def the three little Higgins Steven, Terry and Mathew 25-16 and in the remaining match Andrew Henderson, Gary Spokes, Peter Sansom proved to strong def Kevin Burley, Gary Moss, Clive Redman 25-16.
The next round of the triples will be played on 16th June as the Jason Collins Transport men's triples tournament is played over the long weekend on 8th & 9th June with good prize money to be hotly contested for over the two days. Forms are on the board and entries are now being accepted for the men's fours commencing after the triples.
