Dianne will be attending a series of MidCoast Council Libraries to meet young readers during storytime, and regular event with stories, songs and craft for pre-school aged children (3-5 years) held during school terms.
Dianne Pope's new book 'Hardy' is loosely based on a true story of a calf of the same name. When Dianne first heard the story of Hardy, she decided to write a poem about his amazing life but was urged to turn the poem into a children's book.
The story has a local connection, with the real Hardy coming from a property in Stroud.
"We just love 'Hardy' and even more so because he's a MidCoast cow," manager of libraries, Chris Jones explained. "It's a great chance for our little book lovers to learn about how a story comes to life, from words to illustrations, and to hear 'Hardy' read by the person who wrote it."
Both Dianne and the book's illustrator, Phillipa Augl will be attending the series of storytime events across MidCoast Council's library branches at:
Gloucester: Monday, June 17 - 10.30am - 11.30am
Forster: Wednesday, June 19 - 10.30am - 11.30am
Tea Gardens: Monday, June 24 - 9.30am - 10.30am
Stroud: Friday June 28 - 10.30am - 11.30am
Everyone is welcome to attend these events and no bookings are necessary, simply turn up to the library on the day.
