Spanish football star Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid has married his longtime girlfriend Pilar Rubio.
The 33-year-old footballer and the TV presenter and actress exchanged vows on Saturday in Seville Cathedral in southern Spain.
The couple had neither confirmed nor denied the many media reports that the Australian hard-rock band AC/DC was going to play at the reception.
Among the guests were many celebrities, including British football star David Beckham and his wife Victoria, who were cheered by hundreds of onlookers upon their arrival.
Media representatives and TV cameras were not allowed in the church, meaning that initially there were no pictures of the church ceremony.
After the wedding ceremony, billed by Spanish media as the "wedding of the year", the newlyweds posed in front of the cathedral for the numerous photographers.
They kissed twice, waving and blowing kisses at the cheering crowd.
The bride wore a glittering wedding dress and, to everyone's surprise, carried a bouquet of black flowers. "I do not want to be a normal bride," she had said before.
Some 400 to 500 guests - including the entire Real team and numerous other footballers, politicians, bullfighters and stars of the Spanish music scene - were invited to the church wedding and the subsequent private party on an Andalusian finca.
