Such a thrilling struggle ensued that the teams left the field laughing and in splendid spirits, the Cockies anything but distressed by the loss.
If anything, the defeat left them in a mood similar to last season's minor premiership loss to Wallamba only to turn the tables comprehensively on their rivals in the grand final.
The only sour note for Gloucester was that they allowed Wauchope a fourth try for the bonus point, extending the Thunder's minor premiership lead.
Women's 10s results:
Manning River 49 (4 tries) beat Wallamba 29 (4 tries); Old Bar received forfeit from Forster Tuncurry; Wauchope 27 (4 tries) beat Gloucester 17.
