Frizell was playing with seven-month-old son Axton on Sunday morning when he aggravated a neck issue that's been bothering him in recent weeks.

The pain was so bad that he opted not to participate in the team's traditional game-day walk and activities.

But he took to the field at Optus Stadium and was one of the Blues' best in their 38-6 romp of Queensland, scoring a try in a typically robust performance.

And he insists he'll right to play for St George Illawarra on Friday night.

"It was a bit sore (Sunday) morning, so it was something I had to sort out before the game," Frizell told AAP after the match.

"I pulled up alright. I'll probably be sore the next couple of days, but it's no major issue or anything like that. I think I'll be right for this weekend as well."

Frizell revealed that while the injury doesn't require surgery, it's a problem that often resurfaces during weights sessions.

But he remains intent on managing the issue for the rest of the season.

"It's something that comes and goes and I've had it in the past but not so much on game day. It's happened sometimes during the week doing weights," he said.

"This time I aggravated it mucking around with the young fella. I pulled myself out of the team walk and games so it didn't get worse.

"The physios looked after me so I ended up being right."

The Kangaroos representative finished the night with just 48 tackles from five carries, but also busted three tackles and made 30 tackles.

It was also just his second 80-minute effort of the year.

"Yeah, someone told me that. But I was only able to do it because we were playing so well and had plenty of possession, which lessened the load," he said.
