Preparations have been going on throughout Biripi Country in readiness for a Naidoc Week that will be jam-packed with activities.

"This week is a chance for the whole community to come together to celebrate Aboriginal culture,' said Joedie Lawler, Chief Executive Officer of Purfleet Taree Local Aboriginal Lands Council.
"For the first time, in a long time, all the Aboriginal organisations based in Biripi Country have come together to create a really magical event.
"This is the first time there is something scheduled every day for the whole week," Ms Lawler said.
"Everyone is welcome and we have also invited other communities from Forster, Gloucester, Port Macquarie and Wauchope to join us."
The theme for the week is "Truth, treaty and voice" and it begins on Sunday, July 7 with activities for all the kids.
Organised by Uncle Russ Saunders, Aunty Loraine Saunders and Raechel Saunders, it starts at 9.30am at the Purfleet Community Church.
"We'd love everyone to join us for the march on Monday, which is the official opening," said Ms Lawler.
"To show a sense of reconciliation and acknowledgement of the Biripi nation, we've asked all the shops to dress their shop fronts in Naidoc colours."
Wednesday is set to be another great event and one all the family can enjoy at Queen Elizabeth Park. There will be plenty to do as well as stalls, raffles and prizes.
"Everyone is welcome to come celebrate and experience our culture through this wonderful community engagement," says Ms Lawler.
Leonie Morcome has been organising Naidoc celebrations for over 25 years. She makes sure the kids have a great time at the disco which will be held at the Bushland Hub.
"She has always been a role model and a person in the community that the children look up to," said Ms Lawler.
The Waterfront Function centre will the place to go for the Many Rivers Regional Housing Djari Billaga Awards on Friday, July 12.
The awards recognise the great work of Aboriginal people in the community. Tickets are available through the Land Council.
On Saturday, there will be the Naidoc Fashion Show. Organised by model Trisha Cortaville-Smith. With her support, it will engage young Aboriginals from Taree.
"It's a great way to build the confidence of young people in our community," Ms Lawler said.
The week concludes on Sunday, July 14 at the Billabong Park in Gloucester.
"Gloucester is a spiritual place for the Biripi people, there will be lots of stalls and activities for the community to enjoy."
