The new specifications coming into effect this season aims to improve athlete safety with the new cut-out design increasing the landing surface area.
The club has been fundraising for a number of years as the new mats are a significant financial investment for our small centre.
The mats arrived recently, just in time for the new season starting in August.
Gloucester Little Athletics Centre would like to thank the following businesses for their support through grants and donations to the purchase of the new mats; Coles Little Athletics Community Fund, Stratford Coal Community Support Program, Gloucester Sports Council Improvement Assistant Grant, McDonalds Equipment Grant, Max FM, Gloucester Police Charity Day and the Gloucester Community Shop.
The new season of athletics starts soon with a registration/Information day on Tuesday, July 30 at 4pm at the Kay Green Memorial Oval and the first competition night commencing Tuesday, August 6 at 3.45pm.
With the State Government offering a second active kids voucher, available after July 1, parents are able to use their voucher for school aged children to cover registration costs.
For more information regarding registration please phone Lyndell on 0428587585.
