Setting up on King Street between Church Street and Billabong Lane, the crew are planning a simulated road rescue demonstration to take place at various time during the Saturday (July 27) of the festival.
The simulation will involve a staged car accident with SES members treating the scene like a live incident where they need to extract an injured person from the vehicle.
The live running commentary will give spectators a front row seat to the amazing work these volunteers do.
Along with the demonstration, the unit is bringing with them a large range of their equipment for people to check out and see what everything is used for.
Members will be on hand to answer any questions, as well as provide information to anyone interested in getting involved as a volunteer.
This vital service to the community is run strictly by volunteers, with current membership at 19, including two of the longest serving, founding members, John (Sid) Johnston and Mark Campbell.
"The continuation of service the SES provides to the Gloucester community relies heavily on the willingness and personal commitment of members from our community who volunteer because they care about their community," Gloucester unit commander, Robert McNeice said.
"Gloucester SES welcomes new members to help ensure the high level of service to the community continues into the future," he said.
"So if you can see yourself in orange and have a desire and willingness to serve your community why not come and find out more."
All members are trained to a recognised national standard in a range of areas of rescue enabling them to provide the assistance needed to save lives and protect communities during emergencies and natural disasters.
Member training nights are every Tuesday commencing from 7pm at the SES headquarters, 23 Tate Street, Gloucester. Visitors are welcome to come and find out more or can call Robert McNeice on 0428 269 608. Or come to the demonstration and see first hand what the SES crew members do to help the community in times of need.
