His trial has also heard that hours after he says Novy Chardon packed her bags and left her family behind in 2013, Chardon asked her best friend if her husband pleased her in bed - and boasted of his sexual prowess.
The 71-year-old is on trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court after pleading not guilty to murdering his 34-year-old wife in February that year.
Her body has never been found but she has not left the country, seen a doctor or used her bank accounts since.
Ms Chardon's last known contact was with her friends on the night of February 6.
When friend Frederika Wong went to the family's Upper Coomera home the next day to find out why she wasn't answering her phone, Chardon propositioned her for sex.
Ms Wong told the court Chardon asked her whether her husband could please her sexually, before boasting of his own performance.
"He asked if my husband makes me happy," Mrs Wong told the court on Friday.
"I didn't know what to say."
She left the house after that.
One after another of Novy Chardon's friends took to the witness box on Friday, detailing a marriage in free fall and a woman who wanted out.
Ms Chardon had met, fallen in love with and married Chardon within a matter of weeks in 2000.
"She genuinely, genuinely loved him, and she did say he was a different man when she met him," friend Deborah Manduapessy testified.
But as the years passed, Ms Chardon told Ms Manduapessy of verbal abuse from her husband, becoming anxious and suffering increasingly regular panic attacks because of his affairs.
"She told me that he's been sleeping with other women, and that he is sleeping with children in Indonesia and the Philippines, not young children, 16 and 17-year-olds, and showing their pictures," she said.
When she confronted Chardon about what had happened in the days after Ms Chardon vanished, he said his wife was "greedy" and an "evil person".
It was then Ms Manduapessy reported her as missing.
In the years she had seen eyelash technician Jane Elizabeth Padden, Ms Chardon spoke of being unhappy in her marriage and her want for a divorce.
She also told her about the other women.
"She told me that when he went abroad he would have girlfriends in the Philippines, when he went to America that he used prostitutes," Ms Padden told the court.
Ms Chardon fell in love with a younger man when the couple separated in 2012, but was later devastated when he left her.
The court heard she bought a secret house in her home country and told relatives she was afraid.
The trial will resume on Monday.
