The winners were Robert Hays, George Wisemantel, Charlie Faulkner over Bob Jones, Jim Whittaker, Chris Pritchard (29-10). Runners up were Kevin Everett, Neville Atkins, Barry Peacock proved to strong for Bob Charman, John Andrews, Steven Higgins (17-8). Tony Tersteeg, Wayne Groves, Phil Walls def Graham Turnbull, Terry Davies, Jim McIntosh 25-11. Lu Urby, Mike Sheely, Alec Laurie (playing with new equipment) had a narrow win over Andrew Henderson, Vic Hebblewhite, Robbie Bowden, 23-21. Terry Higgins, Col Beattie def Gary Spokes, James Davison 22-14. Peter Sansom, Paul Sheridan def Clive Redman, Don Mehieloff 20-19.
The quarter final of the mixed pairs were played on Saturday with Mike and Judy Sheely having a comfortable win over Clive and Ruth Redman 25-13. Lu Urby, Di Pritchard also had an easy victory defeating George Wisemantel, Di Lockwood 25-13. Nico Duynhoven, Jean Holstein def Neville and Colleen Atkins 23-10. John Andrews, Jenny Burley def Mark Groves, Lorraine Ratcliffe 20-12. Last week the Blind Solo Mixed Pairs tournament was held and proved very popular by all who participated.
Local boy Lu Urby took the major prize for the men and Leonnie Guilford from Wingham won the ladies. Many thanks to the sponsors on the day and this event is booked in again for next year.
Nominations for mixed fours are on the board so get your team together for this event. Soldiers Point will be visiting us on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September, with thirty bowlers for a challenge so put your name on the board if you are available to play.
Women's Consistency singles
Last Wednesday Del Buckton defeating Jan Jones (152-128) in the Consistency singles. The consistency finals will be held on September 4, 2019 with Joan Ridgeway playing Colleen Atkins and Jean Holstein playing Del Buckton. Three social games were played comprising 0ne Pairs and 2 Triples. A fun time was had by all. We will be welcoming the Lady Bowlers from Wingham on Wsdnesday 18 September to our Wingham Friendship Day.
