In the 29th year of this iconic event with a difference, the Committee is not only proud of the fact that this is the longest continual running Tri event in Australia, but even more proud of what has been achieved over those years.
Many competitors have been competing over several years, some come back to holiday, and others have talked of relocating here.
Without fail, they love the scenery, the challenge and the warmth and friendliness of the local people.

The Tri Challenge Committee are very grateful to our many sponsors over the years, without them this event could not happen.
This year whilst MidCoast Council, Yancoal and JR Richards are major sponsors, we should not overlook those many small businesses which have continually supported us.
The wonderful volunteers who show up year after year, are a major and integral part of the success of this event, so many competitors speak of being buoyed up by their encouraging words of support along the course.
The thrill of running over the finish line and the support of the locals bring competitors back year after year.
A major impact on the event this year will be the fact that the Barrington Bridge transition area is changed, as it is a construction zone.
It will be critical for all competitors to attend the briefing on Saturday evening to find out how this will affect their race.
Many thanks go to the RMS, they have been extremely helpful with the planning and set up of this area.
This year too, we will continue with the new event within the regular event - for those individuals who do not wish to take part in the whole event, you can enter the Bucketts Ride, the Barrington Paddle or the Gloucester Run.
The race starts 8am at the southern end of Boundary Street, come along and watch the thrill of a shotgun start and cheer our competitors along.
Rocky Crossing is a particularly great vantage point to watch the cyclists ride in over the crossing and transfer to their kayaks.
The District Park is also a fantastic spot to encourage competitors across the line and enjoy some lunch.
