Jyah Bowden, Riley Doutty, Baily Ballantyne and Ethan Bird won the first round of the competition earlier in the year, which meant they continued as the representatives for the Hunter schools.
On Friday, August 30, the boys travelled to Cardiff to play the Parkes High School team in the State quarter finals.
Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful but that doesn't mean it's over for all them. While Jyah will be departing from the team as he finishes year 12, the other boys will have another chance to achieve the title.
At some point in their lives, they all have played as part of the Gloucester squash competition. Jyah has been known to win national competitions in his younger years and being a part of the GHS team was important during his final year at the school.
"I wanted to leave my mark on the school sporting landscape," he smiled.
Ethan has been playing squash pretty consistently since 2010 and has been known play quite successfully at a State and National level. He's won a place on the CHS NSW representative team several times, which plays an annual competition against Queensland and New Zealand, but this year gave it a miss in order to take part in his year 11 school excursion to Jindabyne.
