At the group's August meeting, it was determined that one of the Gloucester organisations most in need was the Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group (BWNG).
It was revealed recently that the BWNG's Federally funded emergency relief program would cease operations as of December 31, and that's not something the CWA is very happy about.
Being the CWA is all about helping out country folk when their down on their luck, the last thing they want to see is Gloucester residents struggle.
The BWNG has been providing emergency assistance for Gloucester residents for many years.
It's the place in town where people can go it get a bit of food, petrol or even little help covering the cost of their prescriptions.
When the funding ends for Gloucester, the closest place to get assistance will be in Wingham, almost 70 kiolmetres away.
As the funding that allows the BWNG to provide support will not be renewed in 2020, the evening branch wanted to help by donating $1000 to the program.
But their help won't stop there.
According to evening branch member Donna Kemp, there are plans to lobby the Federal Government to try to get the funding returned.
The group will be writing a letter to the Minister for Families and Social Services, Anne Ruston expressing its desire to see the funding reinstated.
"It's distressing to take away from those in need," Donna said.
"It's not what the CWA is all about."
One of the aims of the CWA is to improve conditions and welfare of all women and families especially in country areas, something the Gloucester members take very seriously.
In regard to the remaining funds left to be handed out, the CWA evening branch donated $100 to Gloucester Little Athletics, $3000 to the CWA drought relief fund (which covers the cost of one family), as well as its regular donation to the schools for the end of year presentations.
