But it's not just GPS students taking part, the choir has been extended to include five Barrington Public School students.
"We were able to take up to 24 students so we invited Barrington to join us," GPS teacher Susie McLeod said.
"As the schools are part of the Bucketts Way Community of Schools, it seemed natural to join forces.
"It also support our commitment to helping the students transition to high school," Susie explained.
GPS has a combination of year five and six students while the BPS contingent is only year six, meaning most of the students will end up at Gloucester High School together.
For Barrington, this is a year of firsts - the first year having a choir and the first year taking part in the Schools Spectacular.
"It's exciting to have the opportunity for our small school to be involved in such a large event," BPS teach Kate Radford said.
Together the 21 students will be a part of the Combined Choir at the annual entertainment extravaganza at QUDOS Bank Arena in Sydney's Olympic Park for four performances across Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23.
They'l be joining many other schools across the State, including Forster Public and Taree High.
Schools Spectacular creative director, Sonja Sjolander said that this year's theme, "Stars" is a tribute to everybody involved in the Schools Spectacular.
"In the Schools Spectacular, everyone is a star," Ms Sjolander said. "We are recognised as the biggest performance of its kind in the world, and to attain this success everyone has to shine in their role.
Ms Sjolander said the Gloucester and Barrington singers will join 5500 performers drawn from public schools.
The Gloucester and Barrington choir will kick off their two-day per week rehearsal schedule the first week they return from school holidays. They plan to rehearse together on Mondays after school as well as each school practising on their own during one lunch hour each week.
