The parma wallaby joey is six months old and lucky to be found so quickly by keepers.
Parma wallabies are one of Aussie Ark's keystone species.
Their numbers are declining due to feral pests such as cats and foxes and habitat destruction. Parma wallabies are a threatened species.
"Unfortunately the population of Parma wallabies is declining. Once found almost down to the Victorian border, their habitat now finishes at Gosford on the Central Coast," Aussie Ark curator Liz Gabriel said.
"This little joey is so lucky she was found and she will become an important part of our insurance population in one of our wild sanctuaries at Aussie Ark."
The joey is currently without a name, and Aussie Ark is calling on the public to suggest a great name for her.
The person with the winning name will win a tour of Aussie Ark in the Barrington Tops, for two people (valued at $300) and have the chance to meet the joey.
"We would love for the community to help us name her and give her a great start in life," Mrs Gabriel said.
