This won't have any effect on the other grades played in Gloucester except when the 16's have a home game, when the Gloucester Junior Cricket 2019-20 season starts up on Saturday, October 19.
Three players who have already signed up and are ready to play are Samantha Fraser, Emma Bignell and Paula Edwards.
Paula has been playing for a couple of seasons and this year will be playing in the under 16s team, but this will be the first year for Samantha and Emma, who will be playing under 10s.
The junior cricket played in Gloucester is open to boys aged 5 to 16 and girls 5 - 18 and is played in three separated grades.
Woolworths Junior Blasters is aimed at the 5 to 7-year-old and focuses on game activities building confidence and co-ordination. Under 10s play a modified game of cricket similar to indoor cricket, using all the cricket gear on a wicket using a softer ball. Under 14s play a regular game of cricket. Under 14 and 16 start at 8.30am, under 10's and Blasters at 9.
All players are reminded that they must be registered before they can play and can be done on the playcricket.com.au website. If anyone wants more information about cricket in Gloucester or help with registering, contact Steve Bignell on 0429 988 101.
Meanwhile in the men's division...
Gloucester's B-grade debut in the Manning competition was washed out over the weekend and will hopefully take place this weekend. The Gloucester Bushman are due to face Great Lakes at home on Saturday, October 19.
