As we rejoiced, wept, sang and prayed it was with the theme of 'peace' and thankfulness that we recognised the hands of our heavenly father carrying and supporting us through our most lonely and difficult times, often through those in the Gloucester Breast and Prostate Cancer Support Groups who reach out to bring comfort.
Words from one favourite hymn, by Francis Ridley Havergal were:
'Every joy and trial comes from God above,
Christ himself bestowing God's redeeming love.
We may trust him fully, all for us to do;
Those who trust him wholly, find him wholly true.
Trusting in the father.
Hearts are fully blessed.
Finding as he promised.
Perfect peace and rest.'
The promise of hope, the gift of life eternal, a promise for all who believe, was shared again as the ultimate victory over death. This is our ongoing reason for thanksgiving!
For all those willing serving hands, singing voices, music makers and sharing thankful hearts who came together to make this occasion possible, thank you!
