In September, protesters in Taree joined a day of worldwide demonstrations calling for action against climate change began ahead of a UN summit in New York.

Professor of climate change and earth sciences at the University of NSW, Chris Turney will speak at a 'Climate Emergency' forum in Taree on Wednesday, November 13.

Extinction Rebellion Mid Coast is hosting the forum at the Uniting Church Hall, Taree, starting at 6.30pm.

Prof Turney will present a talk on the science around the climate and ecological emergency and also be available for a Q and A session.

Also speaking will be a representative from MidCoast Council to discuss the continuing work on the council's climate change policy and action plan.
