This was a doubles competition, handicapped play, and was held over two days. Each game, as usual, were 45-minute timed. Fourteen members had nominated to play and a draw resulted in teams as follows:

Eventual winners were Ashleigh Hickman and Alec Bruce with five wins from six games 4-6, 7-4, 7-3, 7-1, 7-3, 7-6.
Runners-up also on five wins but on a count-back of hoops for and against were Elaine Leech and Bev Fagan 7-4, 6-4, 7-6, 7-2, 3-7, 7-4.
Nice to see some new names in the competition. Well done to all participants, particularly to our newer players. Majority of the games were close in score. We were privileged to some excellent defensive play, good hoop running and great strategy over the two days. We have some very promising up and coming players.
Next Sunday we go to Forster for the Mid North Coast Christmas Party, a bit of social croquet followed by lunch and a presentation from the 2019 MNCCC competitions. The club's own Christmas Party and Presentation Day will be held on Friday, December 20.
Our 2020 season will kick off on Australia Day with a fun afternoon of on-court activities and an 'Aussie' tea. All are welcome from 4pm.
