Just after 4pm today (Tuesday, November 19) the NSW RFS updated the status of the fire north west of Taree to Watch and Act with a fire activity increasing in the Mount George area.

Now known as the Rumba Complex fire, it is the combination of the Bretti fire which came from north of Gloucester; the Tapin Tops fire north Wingham and the Mount George fire.
Hot, dry winds has caused the elevated status, with fire activity increasing in the area of Mount George this afternoon.
The NSW RFS advise if you are in the area of Mount George, monitor conditions and take advice from firefighters in the area.
According to the NSW RFS Fires Near Me site, a number of fires are burning in the areas of Killabakh, Upper Lansdowne, Central Lansdowne, Gulgong, Elands, Little Run Creek, Wherrol Flat (Knodingbul Road), and in the area of Mares Run, Dodds Road and Kings Road (Thunderbolts Way).
"The fire is more than 80,000 hectares in size and is being controlled," the site states.
Currently the fires are burning north of the Manning River and along the Thunderbolts Way.
The fire stretches from Nowendoc to north of Wingham in the Elands and Upper Lansdowne area.
Firefighters continue working to protect properties and establish containment lines.
NSW RFS advise that if you are in the areas of Killabakh, Upper Lansdowne, Central Lansdowne, Gulgong, Elands, Little Run Creek, Wherrol Flat (Knodingbul Road), and in the area of Mares Run, Dodds Road and Kings Road (Thunderbolts Way), you should continue to monitor conditions.

Do not be in the path of the fire.
Protect yourself from the heat of the fire. Wear protective clothing and footwear. Cover all exposed skin.
If the fire impacts, seek shelter in a solid structure to protect yourself from the heat of the fire.
