At a ceremony held on Wednesday, November 27, preschool director, Elizabeth Price had a chance to thank all those how have helped make the project possible.

"It's a project of collaboration," Elizabeth said as she tried to list everyone who has provided help along the way.

The project kicked off in late 2016 when the not-for-profit organisation was named as one of the successful businesses to be granted funding support from the AGL's Gloucester Independent Community Legacy Fund (GICLF).

The plan was to build a new Early Years Learning Centre that would not only bring new jobs to Gloucester but also provide much needed daycare positions in the community.

AGL's fund was left to the community after it announced it would not proceed with its Gloucester Gas Project, as a way of providing initiatives that bring sustainable economic benefit or education and employment pathways to the greater Gloucester region.

Since then, Elizabeth has been a grant writing machine, trying to secure as much funding support as possible to help build the vision the preschool had for its future.

During the ceremony, as Elizabeth expressed her gratitude for all those who supported her and the project over the past few years, she was overcome with emotion.

"It just shows that if you aim high, anything is possible," she said.

In the spirit of collaboration, even though Member for Upper Hunter, Michael Johnsen held the scissors for the ribbon cutting, he was assisted by Elizabeth, committee president Vanessa Parker, staff member Kayla Jory, builder Lukas Dellsperger and AGL's Amer Hussein.

Once the official bits where over, all the parents, carers, past and present committee members, and all those involved in the process along the way were invited to have a look around the two new rooms for naught to three-year-olds.

Although the preschool has held the grand opening, the rooms won't be in full swing until the new year.
