The DA is for the change of use and fitout of the site to a public administration building, which will include a customer service centre, council chambers, offices and a café.
The application, placed on public exhibition on October 30 via the MidCoast Council website, includes copies of the plans and application documents - including a statement of environmental effects, an economic impact assessment and a traffic impact assessment.
All the documents relating to the application are available on the website and for viewing at all council offices.
Information on how to make a submission is provided on the website and those making a submission should include reasons for their support or objection to the application.
These reasons should be based on the planning and development issues relevant to the application.
A determination on the application will be made by the Hunter and Central Coast Regional Planning Panel, not MidCoast Council.
This panel is an independent body that regularly assesses large projects.
In making a determination, the Regional Planning Panel will have regard to an assessment report prepared by an external planning consultant engaged by council, public submissions made during exhibition and relevant planning legislation and policies.
Visit the MidCoast Council website, have your say page for further information.
