The grand final match was always going to be hard fought with captains, Sally Maslen and Kylie Hall, both keen for the win and for sister bragging rights led their teams onto the court. A good crowd gathered and watched a very competitive game dominated by defence. It was tied up 5 all and quarter time, black converted their goal opportunities to lead by 2 at half time.
Black continued to edge ahead with a 5 goal lead heading into the last 15 minutes, to their credit green fought hard in the last quarter with numerous intercepts but unfortunately couldn't convert these opportunities.
At the final whistle Black defeated Green 26-23. Well done to all players.
Presentation of trophies was held after the grand final match.
Thank you to all the players, umpires and scorers, it has been a great season.
Encouragement trophies were awarded to Chloe Tressider and Olivia Harris.
Most Improved went to Jarrod Commons and Mel Seale.
Pointscore was really close this year with Callum Howard awarded the trophy this season. Rhys Cox, Ashleigh Forbes and Kylie Hall were only a few points behind.
The 2020 mixed twilight competition 1 will start on February 26.
