Riko Fitzgerald is leaving this month on a one year Rotary exchange to Slovakia and was recently given her official blazer.

On Tuesday, December 17, Rotary Club of Gloucester members gathered at the Roundabout Inn to wish Riko farewell and present her with the first badge to attach to her new green jacket. Traditionally young Rotarians heading off on exchange are given the blazer to wear with pride to each Rotary meeting and any events they attend when overseas. It's also a place for them to pin on little bits and pieces of memorabilia from their experience.
Riko's first badge was in the shape of Australia with her name and details of the Gloucester club on it.
"It was really exciting," Riko said.
In preparation for her departure on January 17, Riko has already started learning the language and can't wait to start her new adventure. The club has been helping Riko with costs through a few fundraisers, including the successful trivia night and car boot sale.
