The group of around a dozen people, who got to know each other through their shared love of horticulture, are looking to start a new venture but want to ensure it suits the community's needs.
They all agree that growing food in a sustainable way for the community is really important and believe a communal garden is a great way to do it.
The concept is still in its infancy and the group is running through a range of ideas trying to find the best option for the whole community.
Some of the ideas so far include a place to grow food that can be sold at the markets or given to those in need, a place that provides an oasis for people to sit and enjoy, a community learning environment, space for people to garden who can't at their home and a place for garden therapy. Other issues the group are still working through include where it should or could be located, how to raise the funds to build it, what the layout might be and the structure of how the whole thing runs.
As many hands make light work, the group is also looking for potential members to get involved in the day to day running of the garden.
But at the end of the day, the group really wants to create something the entire community benefits from, a place that brings people together with a goal of regeneration and growing healthy food.
