Gloucester High School's annual swimming carnival is usually an excuse for the year 12 students to dress up and goof off, and this year was no exception.

Some embraced the Hawaiian theme with grass skirts and floral leis, while others went for the superhero approach donning full-length capes. No matter what costume design the students went for, they were definitely having a great time at their last ever high school swim carnival.
But the event wasn't all about the year 12 students showing off and making fools of themselves in the pool. There was also some serious swimming going on.
The whole school filled the grounds of Gloucester pool on Wednesday, February 5 to compete for the top champion titles, win points for their houses and qualify for the zone carnival.
As usual, the event ran like a well-oiled machine with staff keeping the events running smoothly.
Thankfully, the school managed to score a rather cool summer day for the carnival off the back of a state-wide heatwave.
"It's this such a lovely day," principal Trudi Edman smiled. "The weather is perfect. There's even a slight cool breeze."
