Three non-conventional farmers from the Mid Coast are keynote speakers at a World Water Day event to be held at Queen Street Hall in Wingham on Sunday, March 22.

World Water Day is a day observed by the United Nations to highlight the importance of freshwater. The 2020 theme is Water and Climate Change - how the two are linked, the need to adapt to the water effects of climate change, and using water efficiently.
John Dugas is the owner of a niche organic winery on the Gloucester River and is a lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Law at Newcastle University.
Daintry Gerrand has a small scale biological farming enterprise at Benaroon Farm at Johns River, and is a regional agricultural landcare facilitator with Hunter Local Land Services.
Bruce Robertson is a biodynamic beef farmer on the Manning River and an energy finance analyst at the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis.
The three farmers will speak on how they utilise water in their farming practices in a non-conventional and sustainable way.
The event is being held by the Manning Clean Water Action Group (MCWAG) and supported by Wingsong Choir.
Doors open at 2pm for a 2.30pm start. Entry fee is $5, free for MCWAG members.
MCWAG is a not for profit group and entry fees go towards hire of the hall and insurance costs.
