We are hoping to allocate a time within the school calendar later in the year, but due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 virus nothing can be timetabled at present.
Year 10 students will attend school and classes as usual during term one weeks 10 and 11 unless we hear otherwise from the Department of Education.
I have contacted all employers who have finalised placement paperwork and informed them of these changes.
If students have pending placements, they should see me as soon as possible, so I can contact the employer and/or students should contact the employer themselves.
If we are able to re-schedule later in the year, I will file the paperwork so this formalised process does not have to be repeated.
It is very unfortunate, but safety measures need to be implemented to ensure students as well as employers and their staff are safe.
I do hope we are able to reschedule later in the year, as work experience is such a valuable and beneficial program for the students.
I would also like to thank our local employers for their ongoing support for our students.
Their proactive involvement and sharing of knowledge through this program contributes greatly to the overall success of the School to Work initiative.
