The Gloucester AH&P Association wishes to thank everyone involved in the preparation for the 2020 show which, until recently, was on track to be a highlight weekend for the community.
The woodchop and bullride were to return in response to community feedback. Blue Moon Bull Riding were the organisers of the Friday night event, while Bill Laurie was organising and providing the logs for the wood chop and post splitting competitions to be run on the Saturday.
The Stratford Coal Community Support Program was set to provide new and exciting interactive activities for younger show-goers. and the association is grateful for Stratford Coal's continued support.
There was to be an extended ring program set to provide extra classes for show jumping, a change of time and ring position for dressage, as well as a heavy horse competition which was to include working events such as the log snig and pumpkin snatch, a first for Gloucester Show. Funding from a Department of Planning, Industry and Environment's Drought Assistance grant made this possible.
Unfortunately, the announcement of the Gloucester Showgirl has been postponed until a group function is permitted. The community will be notified of the new date.
Despite difficult and prolonged financial conditions, local businesses, community groups and individual community members have continued to support the show. We thank all our sponsors.
Gloucester Show 2021 is scheduled for Friday March 19 and Saturday March 20.
