Recently, she began the annual Bravehearts 777 Marathon, undertaking seven marathon runs of 42.4 kilometres in seven days. Although the fundraiser is only a challenge to walk or run seven kilometres every day for seven days across Australia, Kaz prefers the longer run.
This is the fifth year Kaz has taken part in the fundraiser, but it's the first year she's done it virtually. Typically, she would hold an event and look to raise about $10,000 but this year, like most things, the event has taken a different approach, running it through the Virtual 777 challenge platform.
Since the start of the event, on Monday June 29, Kaz has been taking off from her house in Gloucester and running the distance in laps around Gloucester District Park.
Although it's a little different that normal, she is pretty stoked, believing that she's got the best running location nationwide.
"I love it so much I'm going to put on my own events here," Kaz said, revealing plans are in the works for something soon.
"I just need a milk sponsor," she smiled.
It may sound like she's kidding, but she isn't really. Downing a litre of milk after a run is part of her routine, so she goes through a lot of milk.
2020 is a big year for Kaz having recently marked 20 years of running marathons.
She was set to be in Italy running 20 marathons in 20 days, but due to travel restrictions, she had to alter her plans. Instead, on Thursday, April 30, her official anniversary date, she ran her block 42 times to celebrate.
Bravehearts' mission is to prevent child sexual assault and exploitation in society and make Australia the safest place in the world to raise a child. The not-for-profit organisation provides child protection training and education programs, specialist child sexual assault and exploitation counselling and support services, as well as engaging in research and lobbying.
The cause is something close to Kaz's heart and she is very proud to be able to do her part to help Australian children.
