A bleak winter's morning turned into a beautiful winter's afternoon so it was the post meridiem players who enjoyed the best of the conditions. A huge thank you to our sponsor for the weekend in Adam Tressider at Gloucester Tyre and Battery.
The immaculately presented course was much to the liking of Peter Markey who must have thought it was fire season all of a sudden. He blazed around the course to compile an amazing 47 points. Fantastic score Pete - can't see you hanging around in C grade much longer.
In A grade one of our visitors featured in the winners' circle. G Davis, from Paterson was victorious with 36 points. Our B grade winner was the affable Bruce Fraser who is never far from the top of the score sheet. Bruce's 37 points was just good enough to edge out John Herd who was runner up on 36. C grade and A grade runners up were Glenn Williams 37 and Jamie Andrews 35 respectively. How good is it to see young Curly Williams out on the golf course again? Great to see you out there playing again mate - we've missed you!
Ball Comp: Above winners/runners up + Greg West 34, Ryan Yates 34, K Kelly 34, Bill Murray 33, Graeme Marsh 33, S Cobbing 33.
Sunday golf - Annual Par 3 Championships - Gloucester Tyre & Battery Trophy Day
Full credit to Adam Tressider for backing up again on Sunday to sponsor the Par 3 Champs - really appreciate your support Adam - it would be great to get you back out there smacking that little white ball around also.
On a perfect sunny winter's day our youngest member of the club Mitch Andrews took out the day with a 48 nett. Great work Mitch - Mum and Dad are going to have to start building another house to store all your trophies. Elaine Murray is the ladies Par 3 champion for 2020 with 52 1/2 nett. Congratulations Elaine.
Next Saturday will be an individual stableford for the Harwell Lifts Trophy. The Teachers Cup which appears in the program book for that date has been postponed.
Good golfing, Shankers Apprentice.
