Prior to the COVID lockdown the club had hosted the first of the Mid North Coast competitions. The following week all inter-club competitions were suspended. That initial game was against Forster.
Players representing Gloucester in singles were Brenda Pennicuik, Yvonne Bagnall Judy Hopkins, Norma Slade, Ken Gosson and Al Minis. Each played two games and wins were as follows: Norma Slade two wins 7-3 and 7-6, Ken Gosson two wins 7-6 and 7-3, Judy Hopkins one win 7-4, and Al Minis 1 win7-6.
Others to play in the doubles were Denise Bruce, Alec Bruce, Ashleigh Hickman, Mae Bobsien, Elaine Leech and Paul Cusack. Doubles winners were Ken Gosson and Denise Bruce 7-4, Yvonne Bagnall and Mae Bobsien 6-5, Elaine Leech and Alec Bruce 7-6, Norma Slade and Ken Gosson 6-4, and Judy Hopkins and Alec Bruce 7-3.
It had been a keenly contested day right to the end with Forster coming out winners 13 games to 11.
Others who were unable to be available to play all day but assisted with time-keeping and supervising games during the day were Iris Usback and Sue Crellin. This assistance is much appreciated and enables the smooth organisation and running of the day.
