Saturday saw a huge day of bowls with the first round of the men's pairs being very hotly contested with nail biting finishes. Gary Moss, Terry Davies def Peter Jones, Jason Collins 22-21, John and Jamie Andrews def Kevin Everett, Mike Sheely 18-17 on the extra end, Jason Casidy, Aaron Kelly def Wayne and Stacey Groves 33-11, Phil Walls played a blinder combining with Joe Pfeifer def Rob Heininger, Graham Turnbull 29-13, winners from the early games tested their condition by backing up in the afternoon with Joe Pfeifer, Phil Walls having another victory over Kevin Baker, Peter Sansom 23-18, Jason Cassidy, Aaron Kelly def Gary Moss, Terry Davies on the final end 22-21, Tony Tertsteeg, Bob Charman easily accounted for Robert Hayes, Mark Blanch 27-10, Kevin Burley, George Wisemantel had the defending champions Col Hebblewhite, Bruce Wilson trembling at the knees but like true champions they hung on to win 18-15, Lu Urby, Vic Hebblewhite started slow but still def Steven Higgins, Mark Tull 19-14, Terry Higgins, Brian Holstein collected eight shots on end seventeen to def Don Meheiloff, Alex Laurie 28-17, Allan Rose returning from the spelling paddock combined with Gordon Pritchard to def Nico Duynhoven, Neville Atkins 25-15. The next round will be played Saturday morning July 18 so check the board for your opponents and times.

Sunday morning saw the final of the major singles with our two vocal entertainers Aaron Kelly and Jason Cassidy taking to the green to battle for the honour board. Kelly jumped out of the barrier winning the first seven ends to take a 10-0 lead before Cassidy settled the nerves and started to draw shots but after 16 ends the score was locked at 14 all. From here Aaron wandered around the green and the park while Jason kept drawing shots and getting the upper hand winning 31-23 in a great game of bowls from both players.
